3 Indian Celebrity Inspired Makeup and Hair

I recently realised I have only covered makeup tutorials in my Beauty Roundup posts, but starting today I will try to include hair tutorials too.

Celebrity inspired makeup is a rage among Youtube beauty vloggers! Sadly, I have come across very few vloggers covering Indian celebrity inspired tutorials. In my quest to create a wholesome blog about Indian fashion and style I will be compiling videos that are nearest to the India celebrity looks. These will be inspired by celebrity editorial shoots, movie looks, event looks or their signature styles. In the first such post I have selected three easy looks.

First is Alia Bhatt’s black smokey eye with big voluminous curls. A classic look that goes well with your western-wear and ethnic-wear. Mehak shows us how to achieve the smokey eyes and nude lips along with a few additional tips for Indian skin tone. There are many ways to achieve voluminous wavy hair and Mimi’s tutorial using curling irons is just one of them. I will be covering the other methods in a future post.

Deepika’s signature berry lip is paired with a slick low bun in this editorial shoot. This elegant makeup style is right on trend and pairs well with office formals. Karima’s makeup colours are not exact as Deepika’s but you could tweak the shades. Karima has used a deeper berry in her tutorial but pick one suiting your skin tone. The hair tutorial by Boots though attainable is not exact, Deepika does not have a middle part. These are the nearest matching tutorials.

Ileana’s sleek ponytail with bright lips is a look from the runway. This elegant makeup and hair style goes perfectly with ethnic-wear outfits and for  casual day look you could sombre down the lip colour. Sam’s tutorial nails the makeup style. Tresemme’s guide to achieving the sleek ponytail is simple and easy to follow.

I had initially thought these simple looks would be easy to find on Youtube, but alas they were not. I did my best to find the nearest resembling guides. You could always customize the looks according to your ensemble and the occasion . If you are just experimenting my suggestion would be not to spend much on products, especially for a one time look. Use your existing products to try the style and practice the techniques. Once confident, buy the best makeup and hair products in your budget. The products shown in the videos are suggestions and you could achieve similar looks with other brands too.

As I say- experiment and have fun! 😀
