Today I will be reviewing an international beauty website called feelunique.com. It is a United Kingdom based online beauty retailer with over 300 brands to choose from. There were two to three international websites that I wanted to try and on reading reviews feelunique.com fared best. Also the fact that they provide free international delivery for orders above £10 (approx. Rs.1000) was an added bonus.
The website is easy to navigate, you can search products according to categories, brands or a direct search. The footer section of the webpage has all company, shipping, account and support related links. I have not had to contact their support team so can’t comment on that. The usual dispatch time for all orders is one day and estimated delivery time for free International Post is 7-14 days for countries outside Europe. I received an order dispatch email in less than 24 hours of order placement and the products were delivered within 7 days. The order arrived via post and the only hitch was that the parcel was left with the building guard and not delivered to the flat. I am impressed with the delivery time.
I had ordered for three products and all three arrived in a single package. It was a soft cardboard brand package with an attached bill containing weight and VAT information as well. The product charges on the website are inclusive of all taxes. The inside of the box contained an itemized bill. The products were placed in the box with individual plastic wraps and thermocol pellets for safety. None of the products I ordered were fragile so the packaging was not a problem but I wonder if they add more wrapping layers for products like eye-shadow palletes.
The three products that I ordered were: Eylure Strip Eyelashes, Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm and Eylure Brow Pencil. I had been wanting to try false lashes and brow pencil for a while now but couldn’t find budget friendly brow pencils on Indian websites and only Ardell lashes were available. I combined my purpose of trying these products and a new website together. 😉
Eylure is UK’s leading eyelash brand. They have a wide range of lashes ranging from natural looking to dramatic drag queen styles. Feelunique.com has about 36 styles of Eylure lashes among a total of 88 multibrand styles. This is a good selection considering I have only been able to find about 18 styles and that too of a single brand on Indian websites. Eylure’s range of individual lash extensions are also available on the website. Each eyelash package includes a tube of adhesive and is reusable.
I had ordered the No.020 from Eylure’s Naturals range. This was my first false lash purchase and I wanted a very natural look. The No.020 lashes come on a skin-tone strip with a mix of dark brown and black lashes. The lengths are uneven giving a more natural finish. The clear glue that comes with the box is strong and the lash strip remains in place for almost four-five hours. The application process is easy , especially if you have watched a few Youtube videos. The lashes might seem heavy on the lids for first time users but from what I have read for regualr users Eylure Naturals are very lightweight. I’l definitely be trying a few more looks with the false lashes.
The second product is the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in the shade Hibiscus. My lips have been dry since the winters and I have been trying various lip balms since then. Thankfully I ordered the Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm. I have previously tried Burt’s Bees basic beeswax lip balm and did not like the taste and feel of it. The tinted lip balm in comparison is very light on the lips with a slight sweet taste, not too glossy and the colour brightens up the face. If you have uneven lip shade you might have to apply two layers of the tinted lip balm for more coverage. The conditioning effect of the shea butter lasts for almost four hours without reapplication. Also I love the packaging of the product, it comes in a hard hibiscus coloured cardboard cylinder inserted into a black cylinder. I am loving the product.
The third and most awaited product was the Eylure Defining and Shading Brow Pencil in the shade Dark Brown. The brow pencil comes in 4 shades, it took me some research to find the right brow pencil colour. Keeping in mind my sparse black eyebrows and deep brown hair I chose the Dark Brown shade which when applied properly mixes well with my natural brows. The brow pencil comes with a spooli at one end which helps comb the brow hair and move the product for a natural finish. The brow pencil has very little product transfer even on contact with water, you will have to use a makeup remover to get the product off. Shaping and filling the brows has a strong effect on your look and if done right frames your facial features just perfectly. I am still in the trial and error stage of brow defining but will soon be doing a post on the techniques.
My total bill for the three products including a 15% discount coupon was £13.65 (approx. Rs.1370). The same products are available on sale for a total of £12.32 (approx. Rs.1237). I compared the prices of feelunique.com to the prices on boots.com , leading departmental store of UK, and the non-discounted prices are at par with it. Feelunique.com is price friendly especially since they also provide free deliver for a small minimum amount. I will advise you to avail of the minimum free order because paying almost Rs.400 as delivery charges for orders below Rs.1000 is not sensible.
The two main cons of the website are the lack of most American brands and the poor packaging. Otherwise feelunique.com is a great website to purchase Eurpoean brand products from with the additional bonus of free shipping and quick delivery. The products were also as described and pictured. Overall I am happy with the products and the website and will purchase again when needed.
You could receive 10% off your first purchase through the recommendation program, leave me your email id and I will add you to the list. Happy shopping! 🙂
